Reservations are requested for meal planning, but we want you to come - with or without a reservation!
The IHS Alumni Association Breakfast in the Park is open to all IHS alumni, teachers, family, and friends. The event will include great food, camaraderie, and raffles! This casual event has become a popular place to catch up with former classmates. Our menu includes waffles, sausage, fresh fruit, danish, juice, and coffee.
This Alumni Event provides an opportunity to join or renew your Alumni Association Membership, purchase tickets for the Alumni Sunday morning 50/50 Raffle, and purchase tickets for the Alumni Basket Raffle. The baskets can be viewed at the Alumni Home Days tent Friday and Saturday and then at the breakfast on Sunday.
Dress is casual so come as you are and visit with other IHS Alumni and classmates.

Please stop by the Alumni Home Days Tent on Home Days Weekend. We will be in the Civic Center Parking Lot near the Kiwanis Pavilion. On display will be the baskets being auctioned off at the breakfast on Sunday. IHS class yearbooks and memorabilia will be on display. It's a great place to mingle with IHS graduates, too!
Please consider volunteering for a shift on Friday or Saturday. It's not hard, just hang out and talk to people, sell a few raffle tickets, and take alumni memberships/renewals. In the past, printed Home Days Raffle tickets were sold in person in small numbers. This year, a new opportunity is being provided to purchase and pay for tickets online with the "Proceeds to Benefit" a selected organization. In our case, we ask Alumni to designate the "IHS Alumni Association" as the organization to receive the benefit. In doing so, 100% of your ticket purchase will go to the Alumni Association! So, if you buy twelve tickets for $10.00, you get 12 chances to win and the Alumni Association gets $10.00!

You're invited! Join hundreds of Independence families & IHS Alumni for food, fun & football, as we cheer on our Blue Devils! Admission to the homecoming game is INCLUDED with your tailgate ticket. Appearances by the Youth & IHS Cheerleaders. Tailgate performance by the IHS Marching Band. Inflatables provided by the City of Independence. Donations and Memorabilia
We are always looking for Memorabilia from your high school years. If you have rings, class photos, and yearbooks particularly from 1926 thru 1928, 1931 thru 1944, 1946 thru 1951, 1992 and 1994, or other related items you would like to donate, please email the Alumni Association at Alumni Association. We'll take memorabilia from any year but those are the years where we're really lacking items!
The Alumni Association Welcomes Donations To Fund our Giving and Support Programs
The Alumni Association was started in 2007 and is dedicated to promoting educational memories, one class at a time. Current active members represent graduates from the Classes of 1942 to 2023.
Annually, the Association Awards two $750.00 Graduating Senior Awards; Presents an Annual Gift to Independence High School from $500.00 to $1,500.00; Supports the Graduating Class Yearbook ($350.00); Recognizes one or more teachers as an "Educator of Excellence."
Our 2023 donation goal is $3,500.00.
You do NOT have to be an IHS graduate to donate. Graduates, parents, friends, and businesses are all welcome!
